Welcome to our May newsletter and what a fabulous sunny month this has been.
Our residents have enjoyed the May sunshine and we have made good use of our garden and our decorated gazebo. We hope our families at home have enjoyed some tranquil time in their gardens too.
Who would have thought factor 50 suncream would be used for nearly the full 4 weeks?
We all enjoyed our VE Day celebrations and the May Day “ Morris Dancers”.
Our Activities Team coordinated the events and we were delighted to accept a donation from Sainsbury’s who donated a full afternoon tea for all staff and residents. Sky TV generously gifted mobile phones and an iPad. We can now offer FaceTime in addition to our SKYPE sessions.
The business community and our local Church also assisted us in creating a pamper gift for all residents and staff. The residents have had their hair and nails tended to regularly, by our talented care team.
The kitchen team created a wonderful cake for VE Day and we sang songs of the 40s. Residents created art work of the period and displayed a freeze in our reception hall.
The highlight of the month was the ballot for our first ever Crofthead Gala Queen. We are delighted to announce that a lovely resident was chosen. On 12th June we will crown our worthy Queen.
Staff are creating floats for our internal procession and we have a few surprises in store.
As we move into June we wish everyone a peaceful month and look forward to many more happy days, here at Crofthead.
