July and August have brought mixed blessings on the weather front, however on the sunny days the residents have been out on the trishaw, walking club, garden games and gardening. We’ve also set up a putting facility with a ball return for ease of use.
Our trips have included days out to the beach at Portobello and a visit to a local fish and chip restaurant for a good old fashioned chippy tea. Many thanks to St Andrews restaurant for welcoming Crofthead and looking after us so well.
Our conservatory area ( fondly known as the Pentagon due to its shape) has been utilised for some cultural events including “A taste of India” and “ Spanish Fiesta Day”. Our next event this month is our “ Cruise ship nautical event”, followed by a Polish event and celebrating Africa.
Choir is a firm favourite, alongside coffee morning and chair exercises. Ball games and reminiscing sessions are welcomed. Thanks to West Lothian Council Museum services for enabling us to run these sessions with the aid of the reminiscing boxes which we utilise as a library service. We also have books on loan from WLC library services at the Fauldhouse Partnership.
The Eastfield Centre has invited us for tea and coffee and chat and we have welcomed to our events as judges for our arts and crafts.
We look forward to collaborating with them over the next few months in the lead up to the Festive Season.
Moving into the autumn months we will be planning Halloween with our residents and events for Christmas. Our residents meetings are fun and informative methods to collect individual and group preferences for the Activity Planner.
