Happiest of New Years to everyone.
We hope you all enjoyed the Festive period as much as all at Crofthead.
The panto arrived to entertain everyone and we also visited Lanark Memorial Hall for Jack and the Beanstalk. Families attended the annual golf club lunch with us, for a wonderful meal and plenty of dancing. Thanks must go to the club for the attentive service and wonderful meal.
We enjoyed our annual Christmas lights trip around West Lothian and into Lanarkshire. We visited Allanton Church and the town lights in Bathgate. There were Christmas Carols and lots of singing on the bus.
We made Christmas cakes, Christmas Wreaths and completed art sessions as well as chair exercises. We peeled veggies for Scotch Broth and carried out housework to spruce up our home for December. We decorated the home in a variety of styles.
Brownies, Guides and Senior Service visited as well as local nursery and school children. We collectively created Christmas Cards with the children and sang lots of songs. The choir continues to thrive. We choose a gift to send out to our loved ones too and helped the activities team wrap these gifts and birthday gifts too.
Our Christmas Parties were a huge success and we were entertained by Gary
(once a member of the Singing Kettle) who has transitioned over to entertaining adults. He has become a firm favourite. The staff accompanied Gary in providing fun and laughter, by dressing up as Santa, a giant dancing Christmas tree and Santa’s Elves.
Moving into January we are looking forward to our piper visiting for the Traditional Burns Supper.
Our residents meeting for January was held in the Pentagon and we discussed plans for the year, including continuation of the gardening club, trips out and our annual Valentines Day Lunch.
Our January 2025 planner is displayed and accessible to all.
The Activities Team continue to attend the CAN meetings ( Care Activity Networking) to share new ideas, and to plan for the annual Olympics. You might have seen Crofthead and our banner on STV news!
The staff are walking a half marathon to keep fit at the beginning of February and to raise some additional funds to enhance the lives of the residents.
If you wish to suggest ideas or support the activity team in anyway please pop into our office on the ground floor or email
Thank you as always for your continued support.
