June 2020 Newsletter

Crofthead has been enjoying a wide range of events this month. We have continued with our Skype, FaceTime, telephone calls and our newly added Zoom facility.

Our playlists of music have been shared throughout the lounges.

We recently gathered a family from around the globe, to one very special birthday Zoom Call.

Our residents and staff wouldn’t let Fauldhouse Gala Day pass without marking the day.

Although the actual event has been postponed, the residents and staff painted and assembled fabulous flowers and butterflies to decorate the outside of our home. We proudly flew our flags and bunting and were rewarded with a Commendation Award from the Village! Well done to everyone involved.

We followed this up with an internal procession and a crowning of the first ever Crofthead Gala Queen. The procession included a float depicting the Wild West, an old fashioned sweetie stall and a fabulous Hawaiian cocktail bar. The staff were outstanding in their efforts to create the floats, dress up, serve the residents drinks and treats throughout the day and also to prepare an exquisite afternoon tea, followed by a scrummy fish supper from our local eatery.

Thanks goes to Mrs Rebecca Campbell for being our official crowning dignatory for the day.

We have this week, began our Wimbledon Festival and have been supplied with memorabilia from the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

Thank you Wimbledon!

The official Wimbledon towels are draped around our lounges, the old classic matches between Borg and McEnroe are showing alongside more modern thrillers.

The obligatory strawberries & cream, with a glass of Pimms is being served too, not forgetting some ‘ deuce’.

We look forward to welcoming our families back to Crofthead very soon!

Thank you all, for the continued support.

As always, if you have any suggestions for events or ideas for the home, please email Davina or Susan.

Thank you
