Newsletter July 2020

This month we have been delighted to welcome back our families!

The residents have enjoyed sheltered visits under our garden gazebo, catching up with family news and enjoying some fresh air too.

Thanks to Livingston Round Table, Will Coutts and Nightingale Medics, who kindly offered their quality gazebo for our use and everyone’s comfort. The Scottish weather has offered us rain, wind and sunshine and we are delighted to say that everyone has been most stoic.

More carers have achieved their SVQ3 in Health & Social Care this month, ensuring our workforce is professionally qualified, in addition to being very skilled. Others have undertaken nursing courses and SVQ4! We continue to discuss with our residents, on how we can improve our service. Our residents enjoy our successes as much as we enjoy talking with them about our development.

We came together to discuss and choose new decor for the home and everyone had fun looking at shade charts, fabric samples and curtains. We will see these makeovers in the next few weeks and months. Crofthead is stylish and loved by all who live and work here.

This month saw NATIONAL CAREHOME DAY. We celebrated with a tasting tour of Scotland. From Irn Bru to Scottish tablet, Tunnocks tea cakes to lentil soup. Residents also enjoyed Scottish songs and dancing from our management and nursing team. Well done everyone for participating.

Crofthead pulls together at every opportunity and our residents take an active part in everything.

Our wonderful staff have continued to offer our residents an in-house hair styling and nail-care service throughout lockdown. We are delighted to now announce that our professional hairdresser Fiona has returned too. All our residents, both, gents and ladies are looking very dapper indeed.

We thank everyone for their continued support throughout July and look forward to continuing our wonderful activities programme in August.

Special thanks this month to Hornigs for their donation for our “taste of Scotland” and to Will & the Livingston Round Table for the gazebo.
