Newsletter March 2022

Spring has arrived in all its glory. The Crofthead gardener has been working his magic and our gardening club has commenced. Our residents have started preparing our potting shed for some planting, and we are checking that our equipment is in tip top condition too. If any family or friends of Crofthead are taking cuttings, or have summer bulbs they might like to gift us, we will support our residents to plant these.

Our activities team now consists of 4 friendly and experienced staff. Susan and Davina would like to welcome Lynne and Heather to the team. Keeping our residents informed and involved with activities is our priority. We continually ask for input from residents and families and discuss preferences on a continual basis. Its wonderful that our activities team now consist of a professional singer, a florist, a member of British Art Therapists, a retired nurse and an SVQ trained carer.

Every member of staff on duty, supports our weekly coffee morning, including our chefs, who in addition to providing home-baking, sing and dance with our residents. This event is very popular indeed. Our recent Mothers Day event was a fabulous success. Pink champagne, gifts and crystal glassware decorated our table, with some sparkle, glitter and fresh flowers added for the occasion.

Trips have been planned to the canal and our friends at the Seagull Trust are looking forward to welcoming us once more to their 5* barge.

For the Queens Platinum Jubilee we have hired a horse and carriage and we are part of the beacon lighting and street party event in June.

The activities team have also implemented an up-to-date newsletter which will be available to all residents and posted out to families monthly. Additionally, we have a week by week planner which is accessible to everyone on a daily basis.

Easter news soon.
