The Activities Team have been working very hard throughout May to prepare for a fabulous weekend of celebrations for HRH Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. Our weekend includes horse and victorian carriage rides, Jubilee Lunch with invited guests including Moira Niven, the West Lothian Lord Lieutenant & Our Lord Provost. We are planting a tree as part of the Queens Canopy. You will see our commemorative plaque when strolling in our gorgeous gardens. Our beacon will be illuminated at the beginning of June.
Stop and chat to our resident gardener who is so knowledgeable about our plants. Many of our residents are familiar with all the latin names!
In addition our residents have been out and about, visiting garden centres, Summerlee and beautiful Biggar. We have planted tubs of flowers as part of our gardening club. Our coffee morning and Playlists for Life have been a tremendous success, together with our Dementia Choir. Our Men’s club includes domino games and cards and everyone is enjoying the hair salon and grooming hour.
The residents are choosing new activities they would like to participate in. Crofthead, as a centre of excellence, embraces person centred -care. Our team of wonderful staff promote this on a daily basis.
Our chefs create wonderful menus and are always happy to tweak meals to our residents preferençes.
Its been a wonderful Spring and we are all looking forward to Summer. Future trips include South Queensferry, Portobello and Amazonia.
